These terms govern your use of yourent.uk, operated by You Rent It Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 11336375, registered office 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX (correspondence address: Suite 19, 4 Talbot Road, London W2 5LH). By using the site you accept them.
What we are
We provide an advertising platform. We are not a letting agent and do not act for either party. We do not hold deposits, prepare tenancy agreements, conduct viewings, or manage properties. Any tenancy is a contract between the landlord and the tenant; we are not a party to it.
Your account
You must be 18 or over. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your sign-in details private. Give us accurate information and keep it up to date. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms.
Listing a property
If you advertise a property you confirm that you are the owner or are authorised to let it, that your description and photographs are accurate and of that property, and that you hold the certificates the law requires — a valid EPC before marketing, a current Gas Safety Certificate where there are gas appliances, and an Electrical Installation Condition Report.
Every listing is reviewed before it appears and we may decline or remove one at our discretion. You must mark a property as let as soon as it is taken.
Packages and payment
Listing packages are sold for a fixed period and a fixed number of listings, as described at the point of purchase. Prices include VAT. Payment is taken by our payment provider; a package begins when payment clears.
Cancellation. Where you are a consumer you have 14 days to cancel a purchase under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. If you ask us to start the service within that period and we do, you may be charged for what has been supplied. Because a listing goes live immediately on request, asking us to publish is a request to begin the service.
Compliance services
Services such as gas safety and electrical inspections are carried out by independent contractors, not by us. We verify a contractor's identity and registrations and check the certificate before releasing it to you, but the inspection itself and any advice given are the contractor's responsibility.
Referral scheme
Commission is earned on qualifying purchases made by members you introduce, at the rates published in your account. Commission is payable only on payments that actually complete, and is withdrawn if a payment is reversed. We may change the rates or end the scheme on notice.
Acceptable use
You must not post anything false, misleading, offensive or unlawful, advertise a property you have no right to let, harvest other users' details, attempt to gain unauthorised access, or use the site to send unsolicited marketing.
Our liability
We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Subject to that, we provide the platform as it is. We do not warrant that any listing is accurate, that a property is available, or that any party is trustworthy — you must satisfy yourself. We are not liable for business losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
